Team Events


Ladies Matches Monday evening

The club fields four ladies teams: 3 six player teams and 1 four player team.

Matches take place on Monday evenings for 10 weeks starting Monday 23 April at 6.30pm.

Men’s Matches Thursday evenings

The club fields three men’s teams: 2 six player teams and 1 four player team. Matches take place on Thursday evenings for 10 weeks starting Thursday 26 April.

Mixed Doubles Matches (Henderson Vase)

The club fields 3 six player teams. The Henderson Vase matches take place on Mondays starting immediately after the end of the Ladies’ matches


Social Tennis


Club Night

Club night takes place every Wednesday evening starting at 6.30pm. All senior members and juniors who play in the senior teams are welcome to all club nights. There is no need to sign up in advance, just turn up and play.


Tuesday Social Tennis

There is an informal social group on a Tuesday at 2pm, all welcome. Contact Marnie Clark 01334 476624


Sunday Tournament

The club runs a social tournament on a Sunday afternoon once a month. The next tournament is scheduled for Sunday 20 May. Players of all standards are very welcome. As well as enjoying an afternoon of tennis this a chance to meet other members. Details of all tournaments are circulated via Clubspark and also posted on the Club noticeboard. The entry fee is £2 payable on the day and there are prizes and refreshments.


Fergus Muir Cup

This will be held on Wednesday 20 June starting at 6.30pm. This tournament is held to remember Fergus Muir who was a staunch supporter of the Tennis club as well as a keen golfer who sadly died a few years ago. His world record for the world’s longest putt still stands. To celebrate his two loves this competition consists of a round of putting followed by tennis and refreshments. The winner is the person who performs best across both putting and tennis. The entry fee is £2, no need to sign up in advance.


Palfrey Shield  

This will be played on Wednesday 12 September at 6.30pm. Ian is a past President and Treasurer of the club who, though he can no longer play, still takes a keen interest in the club. He donated the Palfrey Shield to encourage club members to mix. We will try to fulfil that aim. Again the entry fee is £2 and there will be refreshments after play.


North East Fife Social League

These are inter club matches which take place on Saturday afternoons over July and August, aimed at members who do not play in the Tayside leagues. Contact Simon Sanders 07714 143243


Kinburn Shield

This inter-club tournament will be played on a Sunday at 2pm in early September (date to be confirmed). Local clubs, including St Andrews, are invited to send one or two couples to play for the shield. There is no entry fee and a match tea is provided by the home couples.


Shepherd Tennis Tayside Open Tournament – Junior and Senior

This is an LTA recognised open  tournament, Tournament code: NSC 18 S0185 which attracts entries from all over the country.

It will be  held over the weekends of 4-6 May and 11- 13 May.

The club also runs a café during the tournament which is a major fundraiser for the club. We are always looking for donations of baking (the best seller at the tournament) and volunteers to help man the café. If you can help with either please contact Hazel Grieve on 01334 473693


Junior Coaching and Matches

There is a full programme of coaching and competitive tennis for juniors .

Wimbledon Club Ballot

This year the club has been  allocated 13 pairs of Wimbledon tickets which are distributed to members via a ballot run under LTA defined rules. To be eligible to enter a member must have a BTM number, opt in to the ballot on the LTA website and have paid their membership subscription by the ballot date. The deadline for this year’s ballot has passed  so only members who have already registered can be entered for this year’s ballot. The draw will be held in the clubhouse on Wednesday 2 May at 8.30pm after Clubnight.
